Guy Talk: John Liu
Ok Guys, so you want to talk? It has been said that 99% of guys struggle with lust and the other 1% is lying. First let’s be honest with ourselves. We are all tempted by lust and at times we struggle with it. We read the Bible, pray to God and even make vows, hoping that we can stop lust in its tracks. So what is missing? In this workshop we will explore what the Bible says about lust and most importantly gain insight on what we need to do in order to battle our lustful desires. So guys, if you are ready to be honest with yourselves, let’s talk.
What the Heck Is The Plan, And Why Doesn’t It Look Like Mine? – Josh Chen
Ever wondered why God couldn’t be a little clearer with his directions, why he couldn’t just give you a sign? Ever felt like life doesn’t make any sense, that things aren’t going the way you think they should? Ever think that all you want to do is get from point A to point B, but roadblocks and detours keep popping up in your way; every time you want to steer clear, you keep getting dropped into the heart of a mess? After being a Christian, has it ever felt like instead of getting easier, life actually feels like it’s getting harder? Or maybe you’ve felt like Jim Carrey in the movie, Bruce Almighty, when he says “God is a mean kid over an anthill with a magnifying glass, and I’m the ant. He could fix my life in five minutes if he wanted to, but he’d rather burn off my feelers, and watch me squirm!”
So you’re a Christian. You have Jesus. Life should be better. Or at least, it should make sense, right? Our God is the God who provides and gives purpose to life. So, what the heck is going on? Why is life such a mess? Why is my life such a mess? Why do I feel so lost or just plain frustrated with life… and with God? If you’ve ever felt like someone driving a car (or riding a bike for those of you without a driver’s license) with no brakes on a patch of ice, then come find out why God is so much bigger than you ever thought, and why the gospel is more than you ever knew.
Why Church?: Ellen Hwang
Why do I go to church? Why is there church? Why are we The Church?
Maybe you never thought about it, you just go… with your parents, because your friends are there, because it’s what Christians “are supposed to do”, or even because you’re serving! Whatever the case, we need to know why Jesus’ calls the Church His bride. How does the bride prepare herself on the days up to the wedding? Why do we even need church, don’t we just need God himself? What about all the hypocrites in the church? Let’s find out “why church?” and you’ll see how more significant your “church” experience and “preparation” to meet Christ can be.
Sing Sing Sing A-long Song – Norman Yung

Grey areas – Kenneth Chan
Have you ever been placed in a situation where you’re unsure if you are doing the right thing? Don’t you wish situations in life could be either black or white? In life, we all have a general understanding of what is “wrong” or what is “right”. However, we are constantly placed in the in-between, where we are unsure of the implications of what we’re doing. In-between “right” and “wrong”, in-between white and black; we are in the grey-areas of our decisions and actions. Is it a good thing?… Is it bad thing?… Come explore the grey areas and find out.
Girl Talk – Danielle Chei/Mary Situ
Boys often wonder, “What do girls talk about? Why do they talk for hours? Don’t they get bored?” As a girl, those questions are easy to answer. Crushes, personal updates, and gossip tend to eat up those precious hours; we believe that talking strengthens our relationships with each other. If this is so, how much more can we grow through sharing positive things? Just as gossip can tear people down, constructive conversations can build people up (1 Thessalonians 5:11). How can we learn to be true, loving sisters to our friends? How can we get over the temptation to gossip and judge others? Join us as we explore ways to become better sisters and daughters of Christ.
